proud obs survivor :

whew~ back from 5 days of torture in outward bound singapore camp in pulau ubin.
in 3 short words, obs was fun fruitful torture.
lets start with the fun part: we did kayaking (paddling boats) in the wide open sea. it was a first for me and also all of my group members. it was very fun and the natural scenery was absolutely beautiful. the lush greenery of the jungle, the sky and the calm blue sea paints a beautiful picture and let me appreciate nature more. the high elements were, as usual, fun, so i wont go into details.

fruitful parts: obs had taught me a lot of things. one most important thing i learnt was that you will never know your limits until you have tested them. one activity was to carry bags containing all our stuff and tents and hike through pulau ubin. that bag i was carring must weight at least 15 kg. at the first 100 metre or so, i was already aching and feel like fainting and giving up. but i preserved on and walked for 2 hours and 10 km, our group was the fastest in the whole (almost) obs history!teamwork was also important, on kayak day no 2, our whole big group worked together and reached the destination half an hour before the time limit!

tourture was much more pronunced than the rest, slept in tent for all nights, hikes and cooking, tracking, seting up things in pitch darkness... etc etc

obs really trains ones leadership a lot, as students need to organize everything by themselves. if you have a chance, please attend it! it would be life changing!

ps. its a bit late, cos not much time on my hands:)
